Superintendent of Cullman City Schools

Kyle Kallhoff is the superintendent of the Cullman City School System. Prior to serving the students, families and stakeholders in Cullman, he served as the superintendent of the Demopolis City School System (2015-2021) and Chickasaw City School System (2012-2015).

He began his career in education at Satsuma High School in 1997 as a classroom teacher. After seven years at Satsuma High School, he pursued a career in educational administration and achieved a number of administration positions, such as Middle School Administrator, School Improvement Specialist, Director of Instruction, and Assistant Superintendent in two different school systems.

Prior to a one-year position at Software Technology Incorporated as an educational consultant, he served as the Assistant Superintendent/Director of Instruction in Clarke County, Alabama. While in Clarke County, some of his initiatives included: leading the development of a five-year strategic plan, coordinating the development of curriculum pacing guides for reading and math in grades kindergarten through twelfth, establishing an attendance intervention committee serving as a proactive measure to reduce truancy and drop-out rates, and appointed to serve on the Education Reform and Innovation Council (ERIC) by the ASDE Deputy Superintendent for Instructional Services.

Before working in Clarke County, Kyle spent two years in a small rural school district just north of Columbia, South Carolina. In South Carolina, he held the position of Assistant Superintendent of Accountability and Evaluation. Some of his duties included supervising social workers, testing, state and federal accountability, student safety, and attendance.

Kyle is married to his best friend and fellow educator, Kristina Kallhoff. He and his wife have been blessed with four wonderful children.
