Welcome to West Elementary!  I am excited to serve as your child's fourth grade teacher!  I came to West Elementary in 2000.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 2000.  While attending JSU, I was a cheerleader and made many wonderful memories cheering for our basketball and football teams! So, sometimes I get super excited and do spirit kicks when I teach!  I also have a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Although JSU and UAB are both fine institutions, kids have taught me everything I know!  This will be a fun year, and I eagerly anticipate meeting all the new families coming to West.

At JSU, I met my very best friend, Grahem Meharg.  We have been happily married for sixteen years and have two children, Madisyn and Grayson, and both attend Cullman City Schools.  When I am not at school, you can find me at the ball park, soccer field, or basketball court missing ALL the calls, but passionately cheering on my kids and your kids too!  Our family enjoys hiking, canoeing, fishing, and watching movies together.  I also love writing, searching for four leaf clovers and bugs I have not seen before, and buying clearance plants from Lowe's and Wal-Mart to see if I can give them a second chance at life.  I absolutely love MY family, my school family, and my church family at First Baptist Holly Pond.  God has given me a great life, and this is going to be a great year!  Let's do this!!
