At CCPS we have "...creative, confident, productive students"!

Welcome to the CCPS Art page! My name is Meghan, and this is my first year at CCPS. I am excited for an art-filled year full of creativity and fun! I graduated from Auburn University and own a local art studio with my husband, Chad Nelson. I’ve been creating art and teaching art classes for almost 15 years. I believe every child is an artist, and I love seeing students be inspired by art and express their creativity through a variety of art mediums. I have two children, River (10) and Rhys (6). We love spending time together as a family. Some of our favorite activities are art (of course!), hiking, swimming, and being outdoors.
My goal for art class is for students to explore a variety of different artists, artwork, and art mediums and then use these ideas to create their own artwork. I will often choose exceptional student artwork to hang in the hallway outside the lunchroom to give students the opportunity to see their work on
display.
