Congratulations to Head Coach Brent Patterson and the CHS Baseball Team for advancing to the State Championship Game with Spanish Fort this weekend in Montgomery.  The Bearcats swept Briarwood Christian in two games Friday evening 7-5 and 10-0. 

In the first game, Jesse Scott successfully pitched the Cats through four innings and Branch Hill completed the game.  Individual highlights included solo homerooms by Lance Cleveland and Cristian Martinez, a three-run homeroom by Owen Lovell, Cleveland finished 2-4 with two RBIs, Martinez was 2-3 with an additional double. 

In the nightcap, Senior Auston Neal set a state record on the mound completing 25 innings without allowing a run.  At the plate, Samuel Murphree had two doubles and two RBIs, Martinez two RBIs, and Lovell went 2-4 with an RBI double that set a school record for doubles, his 29th of the season.  Neal added a 3 RBI double.  Other batters contributing were Cole Collins (double), Clay Krout (RBI), and both Keaton Dean and Maison Goodwin added singles.

The first game of the State Championship will be played on Paterson Field at 4:00 Friday.  The last two games of the best of three series are scheduled for Saturday at Riverwalk Stadium with game times of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.
