After inclement weather prohibited school for 6 days in January and February, the Cullman Board of Education has approved the administrative recommendation to waiver 3 days of school, as allowed by Governor Bentley declaring a State of Emergency; have 2 Flexible Learning Days, one in February and one in March; and make-up 1 day of face-to-face instruction on Friday, April 18, 2014. We so value our time with our students and commit to you to make the best use of the time we are given to instruct our students. We so appreciate the support of our parents with our Flexible Learning Days, too. Due to an extremely harsh winter, more and more systems across the nation have had to employ creative ways to provide ongoing instruction in the face of bad weather. Let’s hope March stays calm and we can maintain our current plans!
Flexible Learning opportunities for each school will also be posted on the Cullman City School web-site under the Flex Learning tab.
The assignments provided have been developed to provide technology opportunities as well as enriching learning experiences much like we strive to provide in a day at school. Each school will support all students so that they have the opportunity to participate successfully. Please contact your child’s teacher if your child needs help to complete some assignments before or after school.
We are excited about this learning opportunity for our students and hope that you will enjoy supporting your child in “flexible learning” by completing the 6 hours of documented assignments/projects.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact your child’s school or your child’s teacher.
Enjoy this unique opportunity of learning.
