The Cullman High Theatre Department competed at The Walter Trumbauer District Drama Competition at Austin High School on Saturday. Cullman High was second in the most individual awards received in District 3, second only to Florence High School and receiving more individual awards than Decatur, Austin and Hartselle.
Cullman students received the highest scores of all schools in the following categories: Female Dramatic Monologue, Male Comedic Monologue, Comedic Duet, Dramatic Duet, and Male Dramatic Musical Theatre. Cullman had 32 participants and 19 students received Superior ratings.
Students receiving Superior ratings were Juli Koloski, Sara Nava, Ashley Stephens, and Alyssa Pylant (Female Dramatic Monologue), CoCo Eddleman (Female Comedic Monologue), Justin Weygand, Donovan Copeland, Dustyn Anderson, and Drew Fillinger (Male Comedic Monologue), Jennifer Jester and Ella Morring (Dramatic Duet), Blake Tetro and Maddie Murphree (Comedic Duet), Sara Nava (Dramatic Musical Theatre), Sara Helms and Juli Koloski (Female Comedic Musical Theatre), Josh Bowden (Male Dramatic Musical Theatre), Justin Weygand and Drew Fillinger (Male Comedic Musical Theatre).
Thirteen students were chosen to compete in the State Trumbauer Competition in December.
